Top ways to save money on energy bills
The cost of fuel and energy is making a massive dent in household finances, and costs are still going up.
The team at Giki Zero have picked their top steps to Save Energy, Save Money and Save Carbon.
These can all make a really good reduction in your energy use, your bills and your carbon footprint.
- Turn the thermostat down for a big carbon and cost saving; even 1 degree make a difference.
- When you get clothes out of the washing machine why not hang them up to dry naturally and Ditch the tumble dryer.
- Now that it's getting warmer make sure you Turn off radiators in unused rooms.
- Take a shorter shower to save energy and water too. Aim for 5 minutes as 80% of us take longer than that.
- Use lids when cooking. Don't let heat go to waste and it'll save you time too.
- Only boil the water you need if you're making a cuppa. So simple you'll wonder why you've never done it before.
- Switch to LED lightbulbs.
