Dear Friends,

At this time of national transition in our lives, I have been inspired to reflect on the words from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (N.L.T.)

‘For everything there is a season,
A time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die’.

Following the death of our late Queen Elizabeth II we have recently joined in mourning and thanksgiving for her life and the rich legacy harvested from her long and loyal time of devoted service.

‘A time to plant and a time to harvest’ - Here in the Ridgeway Benefice during this Autumn season of harvest, we can reflect on the fruits and gifts of God that we have personally reaped, offering us opportunities to use them wisely and share them generously. To be good stewards not only of our personal bounty, but of the beautiful environment that surrounds us and the caring communities we create amongst us.

‘A time to grieve and a time to dance’ - As our time of national mourning draws to a close, we can now look to the future and join with open hearts to embrace the reign of King Charles III and pray that during his time of Sovereignty he will reap a rich and fruitful harvest.
