Did you know that the mass of human-made materials is now equal to the entire mass of life on Earth (click)? The Plastic Free July (click) website has lots of ideas to help us reduce single-use plastic. 

Wantage is well served by local refill businesses. Refill shops offer the opportunity to buy just what you need, keeping costs and waste down.

Our repair and re-use map (click) will help you find other local resources that can save you money, reduce landfill and give household items a new lease of life. 

Businesses in and around Wantage

  • We offer various refills at The Mix - bring your empty bottles on a Monday (2-6pm), Wednesday (10am-3pm) or Saturday (10am-1pm). You can see our prices below.
  • Tribe Zero Waste (click) - Katie started her refill business at The Mix four years ago. ***TODAY*** (1st July) they're having a birthday celebration (click) at their newly opened shop in Faringdon. Pop in between 4:30 and 7pm for drinks, nibbles and a competition to win a hamper.
  • Going Green (click), Wantage's very own zero-waste eco-store (10a Arbery Arcade), selling packaging-free pantry staples as well as eco-lifestyle products to support you on your journey to reduce your waste and your impact on our planet. Updates on Facebook. 
  • Coleshill Organics (click) deliver fruit and veg boxes to Wantage and villages, reusing packaging where possible.
  • Both Q Gardens (click) (Steventon) and Millets Farm Centre (click) (Frilford) offer pick your own, and sell local produce. 
  • Witney refill shop Wast0 (click) (or on Facebook (click)).
  • Milk and More (click) are a larger national company which deliver to people's homes - they currently offer 34 products in reused packaging, including milk, cereals, oat milk, fruit juice and pasta.
