New Church Organ Celebration at Kingston Lisle - Saturday, 30th March, 6-7pm

on Sat, 30/03/2019 - 6:00pm

We have great pleasure in inviting you to join us for our Organ Celebration at Kingston Lisle, at 6-7pm on Saturday 30 March.

This follows the installation of our new pipe organ, the final stage of the restoration of the church. As you’ll recall from our updates (attached), this is a Walker Type C direct electric action organ dating from 1971, originally located in a church in London. It has been reconfigured, enhanced and recased to fit the small space and budget available to us. We think it looks and sounds fabulous: what will you think?

Our opening recital (poster attached) will be given by Barry Williams, Organ Adviser to the Diocese of Oxford, and Joe Barber, Senior Organ Scholar at Balliol College Oxford. Barry and Joe will play a selection of organ classics by Bach, Vierne, Widor and others, as well as explaining how an organ works and how people of all ages can learn to play. Our organ builder, David Stalley of the Village Workshop, will also be with us. Admission is free, all are welcome and we will provide refreshments afterwards.

Please can you email [email protected] to reserve tickets.

We do hope that you’ll be able to join us as we celebrate the end of our restoration and thank all our wonderful supporters. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Best wishes
Arthur & Angus
