Dear Friends,

For those of you I have yet to meet, greetings. My name is Andrea and I am your new Curate. I am training to be a vicar in the Church of England and will be here for the next three to four years serving with Leonora your Rector. I have moved to Fawler, Kingston Lisle, with my husband Adrian and our two daughters Emily and Bethany. We have received a wonderful welcome from many across the community and are already feeling very much at home. Uprooting one’s family, moving home and beginning a new job all at the same time is quite daunting!

The warmth and sincerity of your welcome gave us a sense of caring and made us feel appreciated, affirming the decision we had made. God's greatest commandments were to love God and to love others (Matthew 22:35-40). Such a warm welcome for strangers is a genuine way to show love for others. This is a season of change for many, when the new school year begins, we return to work from holidays or may find we have new neighbours. Let us all remember what a difference it makes to feel welcome and take a few moments to say “hello”.
