Dear Friends,
At Christmas time we celebrated the lovingly awaited birth of Jesus. It was
wonderful to be able to experience this sacred time inside our beautiful
churches, after worshipping mainly on Zoom throughout lockdown. Our
churches have been open one day a week for people of all faiths and none,
to come and reflect, pray or just BE, in beautiful peaceful surroundings.
When we think of Jesus’s birth and growth it leads us to look forward to the
birth and growth of spring plants, starting with snowdrops, often appearing
from late winter. We see them like a beautiful carpet of white in our
churchyards and verges. They remind us of God’s love and nurturing of us
and nature in all its glory.
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your fields. Until we meet again.
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
Wishing you all a happy, healthy and Covid free New Year.
Ann Brown
Pastoral Co-ordinator for the Parish of West Challow.
