Indonesia Tsunami and Earthquake Appeal

on Wed, 03/10/2018 - 2:36pm

Over 1,300 people have died in the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit the Indonesian island of Sulawesi on Friday 28th September.

The 7.5 magnitude earthquake caused a tsunami to sweep into the city of Palu, where rescuers are frantically searching for survivors beneath the rubble.

We know that around 50,000 people have been displaced from their homes. But with access to the affected areas difficult and communications down, the full scale of this tragedy is not yet known.

What ActionAid is doing in Indonesia:-

Our team is bringing essential supplies to those who have lost everything and are without power, water or shelter.

We’ve reached the most affected areas bringing temporary shelter, electricity generators and solar lamps.

We are also preparing to distribute food, water, blankets, nappies and sanitary kits for women.
