Ed Vaizey MP - an update

on Wed, 09/10/2019 - 7:04pm

Ed Vaizey's first parish newsletter since May 2019 and since leaving the Conservative party (after voting against them over their plans at the time for Brexit) didn't see him taking the opportunity to convey his thoughts and position to his constituents or his hopes for the future.

In response, David Leigh-Pemberton, Senior Parliamentary Assistant to The Rt Hon Ed Vaizey MP writes:-

Ed has made his position on both Brexit and the loss of the conservative whip abundantly clear in the local, national and international media. He released a statement to local media outlets on the day after losing the whip, uploaded the same statement to his website and publicised it on facebook and twitter. We believe that this ground has already been well covered and parishioners across the constituency would not benefit from this being Ed’s contribution to their newsletters. Ed would prefer that this newsletter contribution, delivered direct to constituents across the county, focuses on local issues.
