Great news: The Blowing Stone in Kingston Lisle is under new management and - all being well - plans to reopen on Friday, 4th December 2020.

Message from new owners Paul, Nadine, Toby and Chef Valentine:

We are delighted and excited to let you know that we will soon be opening our doors to customers on Friday 4th December.

Our new website is now live with sample menu and wine list, to give you an idea of what we will be offering.

Based on the newly announced Tier 2 restrictions, we have opened the availability of our bookings from Tuesday to Sunday for people from single households ordering a meal each. You can access our booking system via our website.

We hope to give you all a warm welcome very soon.

The Blowing Stone Inn is a comfy country Pub and Restaurant with letting rooms, set in the beautiful Oxfordshire village of Kingston Lisle, near Wantage and surrounded by stunning countryside steeped in history.

Offering a warm welcome, freshly prepared food, fine cask ales and quality wines.

We are a small family team with a drive to provide a local pub for villagers and a destination for people of the wider local area. We have taken the time to refurbish this wonderful building creating the perfect setting to enjoy either a simple pint of our delicious selection of beers with a scrummy bar snack or a full 3 course meal to suit all occasions.

Our food is very important indeed and we are very lucky and proud to have added Chef Valentine Molokwu to our team. Having worked both at home here in the UK and abroad he has a breadth of knowledge learning from a number of high-end establishments. One of the highlights being Head Chef at the Brompton Club, a private members club in South Kensington. Having lived in Norway for a number of years he thoroughly enjoyed learning about the cuisine and broadening his horizons. Now he’s excited to bring his tasty eats to rural Oxfordshire utilising seasonal and local produce.

Children are welcome to eat with their parents, either in the bar or the restaurant. Dogs are welcome in the bar.
