Coronavirus - how to get tested

You can get a swab test to check if you currently have coronavirus. This is part of the 5-pillar strategy for coronavirus testing (click). Testing is most effective within 3 days of symptoms developing.

Who can be tested

Anyone with symptoms (click) can get a coronavirus test, whatever their age.

Register a home test kit

Once you’ve received a coronavirus home test kit, you must register it so that we can send your results to you.

It's a crime not to clear up after your dog if it fouls a footpath, verge or public space

Dog poo is an emotive issue for dog owners and others.

It's disgusting. It smells. It spreads disease. It’s horrible to pick out of the soles of your shoes or your child’s hair.

From the Vale's website:-

Under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 a person who is in charge of a dog must clean up after it when it fouls any footpath, highway, verge or other open space to which the public have access.  It is therefore a crime to allow a dog to foul in any public area without clearing it up.  Those that fail to do so could face a fixed penalty notice of £50 or prosecution.

Bonfires - please be safe & considerate

If you have a bonfire, please be considerate & follow these guidelines from VoWHDC and the Fire Brigade:

  • Out of courtesy, inform your neighbours that you are proposing to have a bonfire
  • Avoid burning on hot, sunny days, weekends and bank holidays when people want to enjoy their gardens
  • Avoid lighting a fire in unsuitable weather conditions - smoke hangs in the air on damp or warm, still days and in the evening
  • Ensure that your bonfire is at least 100 metres from any thatched properties
  • Only burn dry 'clean' wood/garden waste
  • Do not burn household rubbish, such as plastic, foam, paint or rubber
